Organicity

Organicity cells are mutually supportive passing nutrients and resources between to enable the organism to flourish. They vary in shape, and size, due to localised competition, but the ratio of size to resource remains constant, so that the cell does not die. Less resource results in smaller cell. We believe this is an interesting concept that can be transferred to a Smart City. In our development we have made up the city of individual cells that contain everything that an urbanite will need to survive: live, work, recreation, education, health etc. Varied size of the cells, the bigger cells conceived to house more community resources, such as school or clinics for everyone in the city to use. Organicity is built for extreme density of occupation, accommodating multiple and different mixed use programmes; they are autonomous of national energy systems, generating sufficient energy from renewable sources. Each cell is a community with the expertise to thrive, with doctors, architects, dentists, lawyers etc. along with other workers- skilled and unskilled- to help the community to flourish. We have endeavored to build an infrastructure into our design that supports the creation of community. We advocate the principles of smart growth which also proposes bringing meaning and a sense of place to communities. Our scheme is designed so that everyone can step directly from the front door into a rich realm of biodiversity and breathe fresh air.
